Email: for many of us, it’s a must in today’s technology-driven world. We use it for work, we use it for personal matters, but are we using it to its fullest potential? Experts at G/O Digital say email marketing holds a wealth of opportunity for lawyers. They say if planned correctly, an email campaign can not only help you reach more clients, but it can help you retain those clients and bring in more business for your firm.
G/O Digital offers several tips to make sure your email correspondence is as strong as your verbal skills inside the courtroom. We’ve listed a few of them below.
Tip #1: Include a Headshot in Your Email Template
This shows your recipients that an actual person is emailing them and not a faceless company. When possible, place an image at the top of your template.
Tip #2: Focus on Quality, not Quantity
Develop an editorial calendar to help manage your email content. Depending on the number of practice areas your firm specializes in, you may want to designate a specific topic to write about each day or week.
Tip #3: Test out Times to Send Emails
Open and click-through rates can vary from industry to industry and so will your audience. Test out which times work best for the majority of your email recipients, then stay consistent with your sending schedule.
Tip #4: Don’t Neglect Email Design
Make sure to choose a design that works well on both a desktop computer and a mobile device like a smartphone or tablet. A flashy email design may seem nice in theory, but if recipients can’t read it, then it’s useless.
Tip #5: Show Personality in Your Writing
Add some life to your subject line or include links that your recipients may find interesting. This will set you apart from other law firms who send boring, dry emails no one wants to read.
