According to Taylor Hatmaker of TechCrunch, former contracted moderators for TikTok have filed a lawsuit against the company for allegedly failing to provide proper mental health support for their work.
Hatmaker reports that the lawsuit describes how as moderators, they reviewed high volumes of "extreme, disturbing content" to remove it from the app; they reviewed videos that included child abuse, murder, hate speech, etc.
The plaintiffs would like the suit to attain class-action status so other moderators can also come forward.
